Do you think like a criminal?

Some of the best LP strategies come from understanding the people you’re trying to stop.
I live the line "Cameras never caught me—people did. The ones who spotted patterns, not just footage."
The most effective Loss Prevention managers I’ve worked with do more than enforce policy—they think like the offender. They challenge themselves to walk the store and ask:
🔍 Where are the blind spots?
🕒 When are we stretched thin or distracted?
🎯 What’s easy to lift, hide, or exit with?
🔁 How predictable is our security routine?
This mindset is about foresight. It shifts you from reacting to incidents to preventing them entirely.
Take 10 minutes this week and walk your store from the other side. What would you exploit if you were the one looking to get away with something?
